1. WHY SHOULD I PURCHASE SCRATCHOUT FOR MY CUSTOMERS?
Obviously, as a retail buyer, you already have several products from which to choose. Why should you add ScratchOut to your product mix?
ScratchOut simply works best. Hands down. A simply survey of consumers who have purchased competing products clearly demonstrates that consumers are not satisfied with their previous purchases. In fact, a vast majority of consumers will tell you that other products didn't work very well, or more likely, didn't work at all. (Take a look at customer comments posted to on-line store reviews. On the average, these reviews are only 20% positive - Ouch!)
ScratchOut was developed to address this HUGE need in the marketplace and to provide consumers with an inexpensive and viable means to repair expensive CD's and DVD's. Ultimately, ScratchOut will bring increased revenues, lower customer returns and/or complaints, increasing customer satisfactions and loyalty to your store or chain.
Placed head-to-head with its competition, ScratchOut offers the best solution:
ScratchOut works! Unlike other products claiming to repair CD's and DVD's for music, video, and games, ScratchOut uses a proven commercial polishing agent to physically reduce unseen, microscopic damage to optical discs. The result is a product guaranteed to repair and restore CD's, DVD's, to CD-RW's, recordable DVD's, and everything in between.
ScratchOut restores ALL discs to playability which have not been physically damaged by a visible crack or puncture. As long as the inner metallic disc which lies beneath the outer acrylic plastic is not damaged, ScratchOut restores the disc to 100% playable, 100% of the time.
TOP2. WHY IS SCRATCHOUT'S PACKAGING SUPERIOR TO ITS COMPETITION?
ScratchOut's package design, location on the retail shelf, and retail pricing strategy are designed to maximize sell-thru the moment the product is placed on the shelf. The company has carefully reviewed how its competition has branded and packaged its products and has chosen a unique package and point-of-sale display system which substantially differentiates it from competing products.
ScratchOut is available on a disposable clip-strip of 12 tubes designed to be hung vertically from any retail shelf or display unit. ScratchOut's high sheen visibility packaging and clip-strip display places ScratchOut squarely in front of retail customers capitalizing on impulse buying and minimizing additional shelf-space requirements.
ScratchOut is available to the retail store in a 12-piece clip-strip vibrantly presenting 12 individual tubes each selling to the consumer at a competitive $5.99 per tube. At SRP, each clip-strip generates $72 in revenue, or approximately $36 profit to the retailer for each strip at the traditional 50% discount.
TOPScratchOut's clip-strip packaging allows retail stores to increase revenues per square foot since the clip-strip is designed to be hung from existing store shelves and display racks. Versatility allows each pertinent department of the store to carry it - even in check out lines! ScratchOut's clip-strip has a zero-footprint.
The hanging clip-strip also separates ScratchOut from its competition by pulling the tubes up, out, and away from the retail shelf where other products are all mixed together. The clip-strip successfully moves ScratchOut up to eye-level where purchasing decisions are made by consumers. At $5.99, there are over 100 million consumers in North America who now have no reason not to purchase ScratchOut to restore their favorite game, movie, or music CD!
The clip-strip packaging allows the product to self-advertise. Each clip-strip holds 12 tubes of ScratchOut, giving the consumer an unspoken message that more quantity on the shelf means the product is popular with other consumers. Why else would there be 12 of them? If most of the tubes are gone from the strip, the consumer draws the same conclusion - "Wow, this stuff must be popular, I'd better try it".
Since each tube is competitively priced at $5.99, well within the range of an ""impulse" buy. Consumer's are much more likely to act: "Why not give this a try - its only $5.99 and it might fix several of my expensive CD's and DVD's. If it doesn't work, no big deal - its only six bucks."
TOP3. HOW DOES SCRATCHOUT WORK?
Using an enhanced high-grade commercial polishing agent that has been hugely successful for years in other industries and applications, ScratchOut, in effect, repairs CD's and DVD's at the microscopic level by polishing the clear polycarbonate plastic, which covers the metallic platter deep inside the disc.
Even under normal conditions, this soft acrylic plastic can become scratched during daily use. Once scratched and the disc is played in a CD or DVD player, a laser within the player which reads its reflection from the digital information stored on the inner metallic platter cannot receive its reflection properly and the disc becomes unusable.
In the case of audio CD's or game and movie DVD's, the consumer is usually faced with disposing of the disc. In instances where critical computer data or software that has been "burned" onto a CDR or DVD-R at home or office , the lost data can often be irreplaceable. In these instances alone, ScratchOut can be invaluable to the consumer.
TOP4. HOW DO COMPETITIVE PRODUCTS WORK?
ScratchOut's competition falls into two categories: Chemical softeners and Mechanical smoothers.
Chemical Softeners: In general, products such as Memorex OptiFix or Maxell Disc Fixer are manufactured from petroleum-based chemical distillate's which are applied to the surface of an optical disc. The concept behind chemical softeners is that once the product has been applied to a plastic material composing CDs and DVD's, the product softens the top several molecular layers effectively melting away impeding portions of the damaged media.
All-in-all, chemical softeners are only moderately effective in reducing minor hairline scratches on CD's and DVD's. However, such softeners are virtually ineffective in repairing the moderate to heavy scratching seen by the average consumer through everyday use.
Mechanical Smoothers:The most popular mechanical smoother is the SkipDR/GameDR manufactured by Digital Innovations and operates in exactly the same fashion as all other mechanical smoothers sold by various companies. Essentially, a CD or DVD is placed onto a disposable paper towel or cloth, wetted with a lightweight solution or distilled water, and then snapped onto mechanical spindle and spun for several minutes a very slow speed.
Mechanical grinders can be effective but they do not allow for spot treatment of individual scratches - so it could take up to 10 different attempts over the entire surface to remove even a moderate scratch.
TOP5. CAN SCRATCHOUT BE USED REPEATEDLY ON THE SAME DISC?
Although ScratchOut's repair is permanent, it has been demonstrated to repair damaged discs repeatedly. In one test, a music CD that had been purposely scratched beyond use was successfully repaired, then damaged and repaired again, (8) eight times to demonstrate the product's robust ability to repair the widest possible kinds of damage that are experienced by consumers.
Only when an optical disc has been physically damaged to the point that the digitally encoded information written on the inner metallic platter has been punctured or damaged, ScratchOut restores damaged media with amazing results, 100% of the time. No other product can offer that guarantee.
TOP6. WHAT IS SCRATCHOUT MADE OF?
ScratchOut is comprised of a proprietary blend of nontoxic chemicals, similar in consistency to a liquid paste, as well as an enhanced standard commercial polishing agent which physically reduces microscopic damage to discs.
7. IS SCRATCHOUT'S METHOD OF REPAIR UNIQUE?
Yes, ScratchOut is the only product currently available in mass retail distribution utilizing this polishing technique which repairs moderate to severe damage to optical discs. As discussed above, other competitive solutions are limited in their effectiveness because they use chemical softeners or mechanical smoothers to melt and grind-away minor surface scratches. However, since most scratches are much deeper, these products must grind-away the entire surface of the disc to get to the deepest portions of the scratch.
8. HOW IS SCRATCHOUT APPLIED BY THE CONSUMER?
The product is applied with a soft cotton cloth to the damaged side of a CD or DVD. Under most circumstances, applying the product with moderate pressure for about a minute will completely restore a disc to 100% playability. In more severe cases, a second application may be needed to repair deeper damage. Unless a disc has become visually punctured or broken as can be seen by holding the disc up to a bright light, ScratchOut will restore CD's and DVD's to full playability 100% of the time.
9. HOW MANY DISCS WILL A TUBE OF SCRATCHOUT REPAIR?
An average 3.5 FL. OZ tube of ScratchOut will repair over a dozen CD's/DVD's.
10. CAN SCRATCHOUT BE USED ON ALL TYPES OF CDs OR DVDs?
Yes, ScratchOut can be used on all types of CD's or DVD's, independent of music, video, game, or data content. The product can also be used on recordable CD's and DVD's, at home or office
11. CAN SCRATCHOUT BE USED TO REPAIR ONLY A PORTION OF A DISC?
Yes. Unlike high-end mechanical scratch-repair solutions, ScratchOut can be applied only to the affected areas of a CD or DVD, saving the consumer significant time over having to wait for mechanical grinders to sand down the entire surface of the disc multiple times to repair even moderate scratches.
12. DOES SCRATCHOUT REMOVE ALL VISIBLE SCRATCHES FROM A DISC?
No. It does not need to. It is important to understand that ScratchOut repairs discs at the microscopic level, therefore it is not critical that all visible scratches be removed. In fact, most of the damage which causes a CD or DVD to stop playing is not even visible to the naked eye - its not the visible scratches which affect the disc, its the microscopic damage INSIDE the scratch that renders a disc unreadable.
ScratchOut has been formulated to specifically repair the microscopic damage inside the visible scratches.
